I have been a lover of theater since my first musical at age 8 and have been blessed to have seen hundreds of shows over the last 36 years. I have never been more moved by art in my entire life. This show touched and altered my soul. I can't thank the creators and performers enough for the gift they have just given me. Just like his music, this show needs to be shared with the people, touching souls, changing hearts and teaching us all the power of what one person believing in an another can create for the world.

the best ever - just loved it and we have not stopped playing the music since seeing Once in October. Just go and see it.

What a fresh presentation of story, song, and choreography. Cristin Milioti was amazing. I was blown away by the performances of Ben Hope as Boy and Joanne Borts as Baruska. Absolutely no disappointment that the show I saw had 4 understudies. If I go to see the show again, I want those understudies back! Eliza played her role with gusto--impressive for a 6 year old. Altogether one of the best Broadway experiences I have enjoyed.

i've been seeing Broadway shows since I was old enough to enter a theatre, and I've seen a lot of shows from modern classics to classic classics, and I can tell you that no other show made me FEEL like Once. Sitting center orchestra row B, i immediately felt at home? really with the inviting nature of the preshow and filled my dream of walking on a broadway stage, even if it was just to go and get a beer. As a fan of Steve Kazee from his Tony performance, i had NO IDEA that his voice was so incredible and so raw. He literally had my entire heart from the first note of "Leave", and gave me chills, made me laugh and cry and his chemistry with Cristin Milioti was unlike any other relationship I've seen depicted on stage.
Never, EVER, have i cried during a musical before - and I saw RENT twice. but NEVER have my emotions been so stimulated during a show. Even at parts that weren't necesarilly sad, the music would move me to tears.
The last 10 minutes were what made me full-on WEEP. Not only because of the intensity of the acapella reprises of the show's 2 iconic songs "Falling Slowly" and "Gold", but because onstage i saw that both Kazee and Milioti were in tears-and thats what made them real to me. They were no longer actors, but they had fully emotionally evolved into these unnamed characters.
I walked out of Once with a heavy heart. I felt emotionally pressed, but it was the best feeling in the world. I had been MOVED by an amazing peice of theatre magic created in the simplest of terms- no crazy lights, effects or sets. Just music.
The songs have been playing in my head ever since and I honestly can't get through the day without listening to the songs at least twice on my morning commute.
I'm heading back during Broadway week and bringing my mother (who was one of the many that i raaaved about the show to) and i'm literally counting down the days.
thank you for the most amazing theatre experience of my life.Jane Brooklyn, NY
I love Broadway and have been attending the theater for the past 45 years and have seen many shows both on and off Broadway. Once is by far one of the best shows I have ever seen. This is a show that should be seen more than once!! Loved every minute of it.

I am a young and aspiring musician and actress. Musicals are truly a mix of what I love to do most. 'Once' has truly been my favorite. Having all the music made on stage was an amazing and thrilling experience. everything was more passionate and alive. I loved it so much and the music has been stuck in my head forever. Sincerely, Elizabeth K.H.K.

Just came back from tonight's show (11/30) and it was awesome!!!!! The story and music just kept me on my toes and by the end of the show, there were tears in our eyes. What gorgeous voices and such talented actor/actresses who can sing, act, play instruments, and even change the set!!!! Definitely worth seeing!

Growing up in the "Live Music Capitol of The World" I have seen my share of great musicians. However, this combination of music and story telling is amazing. I appreciate the way the story stays true to the movie and the emotions of the original characters, and I thoroughly enjoyed the talents of each performer. It was first time to visit Broadway and I will certainly be back!

I was lucky enough to snatch the last rush ticket back in October and I must say, the show was worth every minute in line. An outstanding musical, a true experience from beginning to end. Moving to the point of bringing you to tears.
The cast is extremely talented and both leads are spot on as Guy and Girl. Milioti's Girl brings out a whole other quirky, lovable side of the character, unseen on the original movie and Kazee's Guy is a magnetic presence during the whole show.
If you're in NY, do not miss. This is the kind of show that will have you thinking back to it for weeks and wishing you could see it again.Frank Jelnicky Palm Harbor, FL
Have been going to Broadway Shows since the mid-70's and there are very few shows that stand apart from all others and 'Once' is definitely one of them!
Saw the Sat. matinee the weekend before the hurricane came thru and cannot say enough how overwhelmed I was with this show. Great Job to all the performers at that show!

Once has held a special place in our hearts since our son and daughter in law were married to the strains of 'Falling Slowly'. So it was with great anticipation that we planned our visit to NYC to see the musical. It was the highlight of our visit - the cast are musically gifted and captivating in their presentation of this beautiful love story. The production is a credit to all involved and deserves to run for ages !

I wanted to see Once ever since it came to B'way, having already been such a fan of the movie. I have to say that I was blown away, not only by the musical talents of every single cast member, but by their conviction and soul. You can truly tell that everyone on that staged loved what they were doing and felt blessed to be there. To watch that is a priceless theatre experience, and will remain with me forever.
Renee Brouwer West Long Branch, NJ
This show literally made my heart stop and then beat again. It made me laugh and cry. I am changed, after seeing this show. There are no words that can even explain how it touched me. Thank you a million times over.Shannon Charleston , SC
I have seen this musical twice. I was so moved by it that when I returned with my students last week, it was a must see show. They too were as impacted by it as I was. I think the truthfulness of this show hits home for a lot of people. These characters could be us...so many of us have loved and had that love that got away. Once touches people on so many levels.
Sean Patrick Brennan Malverne, NY
So what is this show about? Set in a pub in Dublin, Ireland, Once is about love, but the kind of love that lives between the lines, not on them. It's about the caring and the romance that happen outside the frame of a relationship, that could easily be brought in, but sometimes just isn't. And because it's different, because this kind of love, this kind of half-made romance is so rarely talked about in film, literature, or song, it makes for an extra beautiful story.
And the title? What is that about? Once is once upon a time, reminiscent of fairy tales and dreams. Once is the chance we have at true love, whether we grab it or not. Once is the moment you meet someone, the once-you-meet-them moment of bliss and knowing. And Once is the question, the wondering whether true love comes only once or more than once in a lifetime.
It's not your traditional Broadway show, not filled with a frenzy of action and special effects. Instead it's like a play that happens to have beautiful music. How beautiful? Let me put it this way. As I watched the show and heard the music, it was as if I was listening to an amazing soundtrack being recorded live in front of me. That's how awesome the music was! The singing was incredible, the acting and music spot on, the reality of the story and stories unmatched. Go see it. Get a drink up on stage and stand a few feet from the cast as they perform before the show. Then get comfortable in your seat for a beautiful, heart-filled play about love, about dreaming big, and about every yearning we all have for a life filled with song.Annie New York, NY
I've seen Once three times (once back at the New York Theatre Workshop) and have plans to see it a fourth; it's one of the most unique and exquisite pieces of theater I've ever witnessed. Cristin, Steve, and the rest of the insanely talented cast are so awe-inspiring up there; the music is haunting and lovely and unlike any I've ever heard on a Broadway stage. This is not just a musical, it's an experience. Be part of it.
Alyse Clawson, MI
I saw Once back in March and I am still blown away by how good the cast and music was. It's definitely a must see on Broadway!
Patti Loney Burlington, Ontario.
Saw this while in NY this summer. Didn't know what to expect as my sister in law got the tickets. From the moment Steve started singing in the opening number I was transfixed. Goosebumps! I now am listening to the soundtrack daily. Fabulous. Also loved the simplicity of the set and costumes. A nice change from the typical glam of broadway! Would highly recommend it. Would see it again in a heartbeat.

I saw Once 3x in a 2 week period. The first time I had the Rush seats. The second time I was on the upper balcony. The last time I in the orchestra seats. With each upgrade to my seat I fell more in love with the show. By the 3rd show I was crying through most of it. With each show I saw something I missed. I HIGHLY recommend the orchestra seating. I was reading about the placement of all the mirrors and was able to actually see the musical through them. It really does add a new dimension to the musical. I have raved and raved about this musical to everyone and told them all that when they come to visit me we are going to Once. The amazing onstage chemistry that Cristin & Steve have really makes the show for me. Supported by an equally amazing and talented supporting cast that you can NOT fall in love with this musical. I am taking my daughter to her first Broadway musical and it will be Once. Get there early and enjoy the onstage bar and the musical warm up. Bring some tissue because you WILL cry at least Once. Its the most amazing Love Story I have ever seen. Its not an ideal ending at all, but you know what, it make the story that much more beautiful! I can gush about this show forever! I hope it has an amazingly long run on Broadway!

When I learned that one of my favorite movies had been adapted and rewritten as a play, I was both apprehensive and thrilled. The story is timeless; the tension between Girl and Guy makes for one of the best (rightfully) unconsummated screen/stage relationships ever. The heartfelt music of Glen Hansard, Marketa Irglova, et al. is in turns haunting, rousing, heartbreaking and invigorating. In Enda Walsh's talented hands the original story grows exponentially to fully capture and develop each character.
Each part is perfectly cast-- in a year without Audra McDonald on the nominee list, Cristin Milioti would/should have won the Tony. Steve Kazee is both vulnerable and charming as Guy. The entire cast is exceptional!
'Once' is a theatrical moment where all the elements combine perfectly to create pure magic.
I look forward to traveling from Atlanta again to experience the magic at least 'Once' more.

I have Fallen Slowly in love with this show. It started with the release of the music online. First song was Leave and I played it over and over. Then I downloaded the whole soundrack from itunes and couldnt believe how one song could be better than the last one. Purchased the movie and loved the story but was sad that all the songs werent there. Had to get tickets! The show was phenominal, one of my top 5 ever! It's funny, sad, touching, moving, superbly acted. I didnt want it to end. The onstage preshow experience was also part of the memory that will live on. Not since RENT was I so moved by a musical. Thank you to everyone involved.

Truly deserving of the awards it has received. Not only is it thoroughly entertaining, with the right mixture of humorous and touching moments that every show needs, but it shows the true healing power of music and the ways in which it keeps us united with the ones we love, whether they be close by or far away. With a truly remarkable set of performers and ethereal tunes to boot, this musical proves to be perhaps one of the most magical in Broadway history.

I saw ONCE last month as part of a theater trip to NYC. I can unabashedly say that this was one of the most glorious theatrical experiences I've ever been lucky enough to have attended. The chemistry between Steve Kazee and Cristin Milioti was a joy to behold. And the amount of talent on display by the entire cast of actor/musicians was astounding. For me this was a truly transformational experience, and perhaps the most romantic show I've ever seen since "West Side Story". I truly left the Jacobs Theatre walking on air. It's been weeks and I still can't stop talking about this show. This show is GOLD!

I just loved Once. I saw it just before the Tony awards with my husband. It was my anniversary present to him. He had seen the movie and loved it and was a major fan of the CD. I hadn't seen the movie and I just fell in love with the musical. We were thrilled when the play won so many awards a few days later. We always recommend the show to people whenever we can fit it into a conversation!
Marissa Nye Wellsville, NY
As soon as my friend and I heard that our favorite movie was being made into a musical we were both overly excited and then overly sad because we knew we were never going to see it. Luckily I have some pretty amazing people in my life and we all decided to take a road trip to see this amazing musical. I was so nervous that it wasn't going to live up to my expectations or that I wasn't going to enjoy it as much as the film, but this musical was more than I could have ever dreamed. As soon as I heard "Leave" begin I started to cry and from there I had no regrets. Seeing Once is one of my greatest memories. I could not have asked for a better adaptation of my favorite film. It was beautiful and touching.

I have been a Broadway patron for more than thirty years and have seen more performances than I can possibly count. Once is that rare show that captured my heart so completely it actually hurt. I laughed, I cried and I am haunted by it. One of the most beautiful and memorable theatrical experiences of my life.

What an enchanting musical! Just saw it yesterday and cannot get it out of my mind. Hauntingly beautiful music and actors. Everyone on the stage owns it! Most talented performers I have ever seen. They are all quadruple threats...acting, singing, dancing and instrumentalists. Must see again!

Absolutely beautiful. I fell in love with the movie a while ago. This film holds very personal significance to me, so I was dying to see this musical. I was pleasantly surprised by how humorous this was! But I was also deeply moved. When the final note ended, I immediately burst into tears of joy. Everyone in this cast has superb talent (acting, singing, playing instruments, while dancing!) and I encourage anyone to go watch this show.

I saw Once in May and it was my favourite musical I had seen the entire trip there. I didn't know what to really expect but had a feeling it would be something I would definitely regret if i didn't go. It completely took me by surprise, from the chills during " Leave", laughs, and of course a few tears as I moved by the story. I try to explain to my friends back home but I can't really, it was an experience that I will remember forever and left me thinking about choices in my life and dreams. This play was fresh and moving. I encourage everyone to see it, you will not regret it.

There are many shows that I love. There are many scores that I love. But this show was the most magical, moving theatre experience I have ever had. The cast fills that stage with sound and emotion and then throws it out over the audience in a way like I've never seen.
Each element - the story, the music, the performances, the direction, the set - was unique and inspirationally creative.Kathy Toomey Worcester, MA

enter your review here.Absolutely breathtaking! Once takes a journey through the dark and beautiful core aspects of life, capturing it with such grace and truth that it will leave many in tears! It's amazing depiction of love, life, and loss truly connects with the audience! It's plethora of musical sounds and plot twists will surely evoke the musician and theater geek in all of us! Cristin Milioti is so strong (she blew me away) and the rawness of steve kazee's voice blew me away! One of the best musicals in New York! A must-see! It left a greater impact on my family and me than practically ever musical we've ever seen!

As soon as you step through the door's, you're part of the music and the story. Beautiful, powerful music, great acting, heart-wrenching story--all around amazing, especially so for a musician and Literature major like myself. Glen and Marketa must be proud.
Andy L. Brooklyn, NY
Saw this last night and still thinking about it. I can honestly say I haven't seen anything like it on the Broadway stage before. Cristin and Steve are, of course, amazing, but to me the true star of this show is the music. Bravo all around.
Neece Millington, NJ
"Once" is a magical theatre experience; theatre as it truly is, because you are enveloped in the music and the story through the whole onstage concept. The entire company/ensemble is so involved and genuine that it's hard to remember you're watching a performance, not real people's experiences. The B-E-S-T Broadway evening ever.
Teresa Jacksonville, Florida
WOW! What a musical! This unique love story drew me in from the very first song. The acting was superb and the music was extremely touching and brought tears to my eyes. I'm from Florida and was given 2nd row tickets from a friend. Thank you to all of the cast for sharing your gifts and talents with a small town, school teacher enjoying a week in New York attending a writing workshop. I LOVE NEW YORK and LOVE the music of "Once". May your careers soar and you reach your dreams. Congratulations on your Tony Awards!

I saw the show on June 2...the matinee. I thought I would not like the show. I have always loved the big musical..my first was the original West Side Story in the late 50's. I was blown away by Once... loved the show and especially Cristin Milioti. She was wonderful! I loved all of the cast but Cristin really brought home the love story for me. She is a fine actor and I hope she will get more musicals now. I guaranty that I will see them all as long as I can get to NYC. I have never tried to communicate with a celeb but I felt compelled in this case. Once really moved me!

Not having remembered about the movie a few years ago, and on a trip to NYC, my wife and I (somewhat randomly) chose to go see ONCE. We did not leave disappointed. This is an amazingly, beautiful production. From a great story, to wonderful acting, to a powerful musical performance, Once is well deserving of the Tony's it won. Both of us are wishing we could see it again and hoping that it tours at least somewhat close to where we live.

I loved it. For me the accent just touched me, because I'm an exchange student from Finland. But any way I loved every part of the show. It was so creative and funny. Even the silent moments were perfect. I saw five Broadway shows during the week when I were in N.Y.C. and I just loved this one the most. I'm so sad that I can't have this CD because the voices and music and just everything was so perfect. The whole cast was like living the life it wasn't just acting it was something more. I won't ever forget Once, it touch my soul! And also the reason why I was looking forward this show was because I have earlier already thought how wonderful actors Cristin Milioti and Steve Kazee are. I'm in love, Once you got my heart!

I had seen Once the musical with my classmates on March 24th of 2012. Earlier in February, we had an opportunity to meet Michael Zygo, a very talented man and his very talented wife, Jill Zygo. It was such an honor to meet two very talented Broadway stars. Ever since I have seen Once, I honestly never wanted to leave the theater. It was a captivating musical, and the music was absolutely beautiful. Steve Kazee and Cristin Milioti and the entire company (including Zygo) had done a very beautiful job, and I was very intriguied by the performance. I am very happy that I saw this musical, I am proud the cast is nominated for 11 Tonys, and I hope the show continues to make success in the future.

I'm 70, and my first Broadway show was "My Fair Lad" in 1960. I love "Oklahoma" and "Les Miz" and "South Pacific," but never have I been so deeply in love with a musical and its cast, especially Cristin to who I kissed by the stage door, then sent her a note. I could easil have gone to see the show again at night after the Wednesday matinee. My son loved "Once" the movie, so I'm sending him to "Once," the musical. A perfect, perfect show. Jim Mattimore

Everyone should fall in love at least ONCE. See it ...you will fall in love. This show is the most charming and inventive interpretation of the movie. The cast is wonderful and the staging is excellent. You will be moved!

These characters, their struggles and the love story that unfolds...all of it is told in such a beautiful way! The music is soulful and moving beyond belief...the last song brought me to tears. Congratuations to all involved!!

Cristin and Steve are haunting. So honest. I could feel the tension between them the whole show and couldn't have had a better time.
Martin Crestwood, NY
What a fantastic show! I loved the characters, the story, the staging, very unique. Nothing but high praise for the actors/musicians in this musical we had a great time! It was also my 1st time standing on a broadway show stage during a musical number! Very cool!
DEBORAH CALABASAS
FABULOUS! ONE OF THE FEW PLAYS THAT I HAVE EVER GONE TO THAT EVERY PERSON WE WERE WITH WERE MOVED BY THE MUSIC AND THE STORY. ALL SEVEN OF US LOVED IT!
Jessica Walker Buffalo, NY
This musical touched my soul in a way I was not expecting. It has been some time since I have been this moved by music, but it wasn't just the lyrics, but the combination of talented musicians and excellent acting that moved me. I loved the story between the characters. It made me feel joy, sadness, and love all in a few hours. I recommend everyone see this show as soon as possible.
Ken Goodrow Plainfield, NH
Wow! What a fantastic performance. All at once, funny, dramatic, and romantic. The music, and vocals are superb as well. My wife and I liked it so much that we got tickets for our son and his girlfriend to see it two nights later. They loved it, too.
David C. Cobb Los Angeles, CA
As a huge fan of the original movie, I was excited yet skeptical -- how could they possibly improve on the understated, delicate sensibilities of the film?
But that's just the thing -- thankfully, it's not trying to be the film. At all. It's its own thing. And it's beautiful.
The cast embraces, reinterprets, and shares these incredible songs with such fierce, unavoidable joy, that it's clear they love them as much as we already do (and if you don't know the music -- this cast will quickly pull you into the love-fest).
If anything, it's a companion piece to the original film that manages to create its own unique visual and aural artistry, immersing the audience in the story in a way that no film or album can. I don't think I've ever wept -- in heaving sobs -- in a live show like I did during the reprise of "Falling Slowly" at the end of ONCE.
I want to hug the entire cast.Kevin & Terri Urbansky Lancaster, PA
We are big fans of the movie and now are even bigger fans of the play. What a great way to spend an April Saturday afternoon. Spectacular.

Once is an experience matched by no other. The incredible vibe that radiates from the stage is palpable. The time I spent captivated by those on stage was tremendously endearing. The musicality and talent each one of the actors possesses is extraordinary.

I expect a lot from a Broadway play and am seldom disappointed. In planning a trip to New York, I looked at many reviews and was struck by how positive the reaction was to once. But as good as those reviews were, they did not prepare me for the power and beauty of the play. The charm and passion of the story are supercharged by the depth and humanity of the leads, and enhanced by an incredibly talented cast of actor/musicians. Time and time again, I reacted to the music from the inside out, and even as my mind engaged the story and lyrics, my body was taken over by the richness of sounds that touched my soul. This was a spiritual experience.
Tyler Richmond, VA
Hands down one of the best productions I have ever seen on stage. Any stage, anywhere, Broadway or otherwise. So packed with emotion. I sat in the second row and felt completely immersed in the story. Thanks for an amazing experience.

Great Show!!! One of the best plays we have seen. Going on stage at the intermission was a great experience and a lot of fun.
Good Luck. Everyone should see ONCE and I assure you it would be enjoyable.Scott F Cooney Medford, NJ
Once the Musical is an absolutely brilliant piece of musical theatre that embodies everything that we love about going to the theatre. It is a spectacular show without the spectacle that needs to be experienced at least once, if not twice.
Dan Tyree Sacramento, CA
As a fan of the film Once, I was both eagerly anticipating and privately worrying about seeing Once-The Musical. How could such delicate, heart wrenching source material be adapted to meet the tastes of a mainstream Broadway audience? In a word, heart. Starting with a healthy respect for the seeds sewn by Glen Hansard and Marketa Irglova, the songs and the story are given the loving care old fans like myself demand.
Leads Steve Kazee and Cristin Milioti will rightfully get glowing reviews and recognition in the press and during awards season for their star making turns that range from tragic to triumphant. But the success of Once is a credit to more than just the stars. The creators should take a bow for fostering a sense of community amongst the ensemble cast and with the audience who are invited in to an Irish pub and given a peek in to the resurrection of a broken heart through song. Since the whole cast is on stage for literally the duration of the performance, each is given an opportunity to develop and each is given ample exposure to the spotlight.
The songs. Well, in the hands of Kazee and Milioti the songs are the brightest star. From the cautious hope of Oscar winning Falling Slowly to broken hearted Leave, these songs prove themselves to be timeless examples of a singer/songwriter of the highest caliber. A Hansard purist might point out the differences in voice from film to stage, but make no mistake this is a reinterpretation, not mimicry. The delivery is no less powerful, inducing several goose bump moments and reigniting a feeling of the freedom of music for this soul.
At the final curtain call as I rose in appreciation with the rest of my fellow audience members, the feeling I had was of being witness to something special, from a cast who clearly understood how lucky they were to be a part of something that I will surely be telling friends and family members about many years later.
Scott Bluebond Narberth, PA
Once the Musical was such a beautifully done show. The audience is allowed on to the stage before it begins. The setting is a bar and you can order a drink while up there. Then, the cast members come on stage and begin to perform songs, mos...tly sounding like traditional Irish music. Then, we went back to our seats and to be honest, it was hard to know when the show really started...it just did. Total breaking down of the fourth wall. The music was performed by all the actors, and they were able to capture the elan of the film and create a spirit that was original at the same time. Simplistic, understated, but no denying, it was an emotional power house. I just ate it all up. There was an intermission...you could order more drinks on stage :), and when the second half began, it was even more moving and powerful than the first half. I understood the lyrics to these songs better than ever. I can only tell you that even the most jaded individual may be reaching for a handkerchief. After the show, most all of the cast came out and signed programs, CD booklets and took photos. I told one of the leads, Steve Kazee, that I was heaving in the audience from being so moved. He told me it was all he could do not to cry on stage while performing. He and Cherry Hill native Cristin Milioti were wonderful as the leads, and the rest of the cast, just as talented and wonderful. They sang, danced, played multiple instruments, and when it was all over, I wanted to watch it again. It is so rare in life to have such high expectations and have them not just met, but far exceeded. Take someone you love and bring them to this show. You won't be disappointed.
Mike Myers Blackstone, MA
From the second we entered the theatre we experienced a show unlike any before. So many ways to describe the performance...magical, beautiful, haunting, longing...yes it's all that, but so much more. We couldn't recommend Once more highly. It is a MUST SEE event that needs to be on every Broadway lover's wish list for 2012.

Loved it and I WILL be back!! One of the most beautiful stories and most enjoyable shows ever done on Broadway! Unbelievably talented cast, powerful music.....everyone needs to see this show!
Joe New Brunswick, NJ
I spend a lot of time complaining about how standing ovations are meaningless because the audiences in America give one at every single show, no matter the quality. It is with great pleasure I can say that I truly believe that "Once" is one of those rare occasions when the standing ovation is completely deserved.
Renee Dees Mobile, AL
Once was amazing. I was so moved by the music that I cried. Great show!! I saw a preview and the theater was full. We gave the show a triple standing ovation.
Steve L Charlotte, NC
One of the most creative shows I have ever experienced. A joy beyond compare and a story so real.

Endearing show with wonderful music that you will sing for days and days. The cast is multi-talented.....each member sings, dances, and plays a mean instrument. The performance is well-paced and sprinkled with humor. A very innovative set design as well. Wow!!! I loved Once, the movie and thought I couldn't possibly enjoy the play as much. Guess what? I did. I saw this a few weeks ago (during previews) and again just a few days ago. I don't recall now how I chose to see this show the first time. I had stopped seeing Broadway shows for a while and I've been meaning to go back. I was reaching a new low in my life because of (hard but correct) changes I was making. So when I got to the show (about 5 minutes before 8pm), I was suprised it had already "started". And what a great start it was! And then I got to meet the main characters. I immediately fell in love with Girl. I could already tell she was there to save Guy (just like Jack was there to save Rose in the movie Titanic). And then I heard the song "Falling Slowly". I was like, I've heard that song before. Nevertheless, it brought me to tears (for real). During intermission, I finally looked at the Playbill and realized the show was based on the movie (which I've never seen). The rest of the show and the other characters reminded me how great life is in both it's ups and downs. Right after I saw the first show, I went home and downloaded the movie. Ahh, what a great movie. Both the movie and the musical carry the same message but deliver it in different ways, both of which I absolutely loved. But I was so happy I didn't see the movie first. It made seeing this musical even more magically. The 2nd time wasn't as magically but it was still great nonetheless. While the whole production is made up of first rate actors/musicians, I've added Cristin Milioti to my very short favorite actors list. I agree with her that not seeing the movie was the right approach to take. Her version of Girl and Marketa's version are both delightful in different ways. Equally as well, Steve's version of Guy is also absolutely great. In fact, I think I like it more than Glen's version.
I plan to see this show at least once more. The last time I loved a show this much was Les Miserables (which will forever be my all-time favorite musical).pk thompson atlanta, texas
this was my second time to see the show.....this time i brought three ladies from texas who had never been to NY....this was their favorite of the two shows we saw...tears all-around

What a great show and experience! Very moving and left me in tears at the end. The entire ensemble was excellent.

I just came watching the show with my girlfriend Sarah. We were just so entertaining and it worked in so many ways. Great music performed onstage by the actors who never missed a beat of the music or dialog. The cast just work so well together, you lose them in their characters. Had a great time and would gladly see it again.
Moses Atlanta, GA
My wife and I were transported, transformed and deeply moved. Thank you for this gift! Real music, real emotion.

The set and cast as orchestra is what initially grabs your attention. But it is the Music, Story and Acting that touches your soul.
Once is a wonderful, unique broadway experience, one you do not want to miss.Laura Sodano Cedar Grove, NJ
My beau and I were at the March 25 matinee ...we loved it! Will go again! Never saw the movie. Talented cast, beautiful staging. Thank you everyone. Word of advice to theatre-goers: get to theatre really early to go onstage before the show.
Kelly Pittsburgh, PA
I went to see Once with my Sister who lives in New York and I in Pittsburgh. We grew up hearing celtic influenced music all around us as well as being musicians ourselves. This show is full of so many talented people who give everything they have to the performance. You'll walk out feeling emotionally raw in the most magical of ways thanks to music that tells us what it's truly like to love from such gifted musicians.
Christine Long Island, NY
The movie Once has a special meanong to me and the love of my life, but it was nothing compared to the musical. It captivated and touched me with the amazing talented ensemble cast and the powerful songs. The story is more than a love story, but a tale of love, friendship, hope and the power of having someobe believe in you. I hope to see it again.
Scott R. Grumling Philadelphia, PA
“Once”, the new musical based on the critically well-received indie film of 2007, is probably the most memorable and emotionally resonant stage adaptation of a movie to ever hit Broadway. It’s certainly one of the best musicals to grace the Great White Way in several seasons. You will be hard pressed to find any flaws in this breathtaking and moving production filled with tons of heart and full of desperate longing. It’s simply devastating—but in a sublime way.
Anthony Douglas Silver Spring, MD
I was just so unbelievably floored by this production. I had seen the movie, and I was so worried about how they would bring this to the Broadway stage. Almost needless to say, I was so pleasantly surprised. Steve Kazee and Cristin Milioti absolutely shine in the lead roles, and I could not conceal my tears as they sang "Falling Slowly." All of the other songs were integrated seamlessly into the beautiful story, and overall, it was just a fantastic show. No other show has made me feel such raw, unabashed emotion. I would also like to note the intimacy of the theatre. Our ushers allowed us onstage to the bar, as we reveled in the incredible musicianship of the cast, in an impromptu jam session. I can tell you without any reservation that you just MUST see this show. Something extremely special is happening 8 times a week at the Bernard B. Jacobs Theatre, and you would be absolutely ridiculous to come to New York and miss it. Truly musical theatre at it's finest. I left the theatre in tears. "Once" will move you, shake you, and make you feel so innately in touch with the aspects of humanity that can only be brought out through such soul-stirring music. Go. See. And revel in this unbelievably poignant piece of theatre. You will be forever changed.

Of all the Broadway shows I have ever since - this takes it all. This piece is not even just a show, it's an experience. There is something so humble and real about it that touches my heart so much and I have to say that I was completely blown away each time I saw the show. Steve Kazee and Cristin Milioti's stage presence and chemistry is unfathomable, and the musical aspect of this piece is absolutely unreal. Congratulations on such a fantastic show, I hope you win all the Tony's you deserve for this spectacular piece of theater and art. It is truly magical and exhilarating. On top of this the set, lights, and sounds are absolutely fantastic. The cast was all so wonderful to meet and I cannot wait to come back again. I can't stop listening to the soundtrack, and I feel like Once is a memory I will take with me forever. Such a fantastic story played by such fantastic people.

A wonderfully inventive staging of a fresh and touching new musical.
"Once" filled me (and everyone else in the theater) with the joy of life. It's a must see!Anastasia Sophia Annapolis, MD
I saw the show last night. My experience was just overwhelming. My boyfriend and I love the story from the movie, this adaptation of it is beautiful. I didn't think I could possibly love the story, music, and characters more. I am thrilled to be proven wrong. I was laughing and crying and overcome with emotion and love for the story. The set design, lighting, and concept is brilliant. The show is magic.
Rick Witlen White Plains, NY
After seeing the movie I felt I had to see the Broadway version. I was not disappointed. The staging was clever and all of the performers were outstanding and amazingly talented. Both moving and thoroughly entertaining, I was very pleased to have seen the cast while they are fresh and unaffected by what I feel will be a long run.
Hannah Murphy Raleigh, NC
This musical is a beautifully rendered story about the soul-full power of music and it's great potential to draw, even the most unlikeliest of couples, together. This play had me laughing and crying; I thoroughly enjoyed the acting and musical aspects of the production, and recommend everyone, everywhere, in every corner of the world, go and revel in the beauty of this show.

My daughter and I went to see "Once" on a whim and were both so thrilled that we had made that choice. It was tender and lovely and charming and heartbreaking. I loved the organic nature of the show, as if we were sneaking a peak into the lives of the characters.

A wonderful show with an extremely talented cast!

As I was emailing my brother, strongly suggesting that he get tickets ASAP for Once, the incoming email bing was from Telecharge, asking how I liked the show (which I saw yesterday).
Brilliant. Cristin Milioti has both channeled Audrey Hepburn and contemporized her. Steve Kazee manages to seamlessly blend machismo with vulnerability, and the two generate such electricity! The ensemble cast is superb. Set design ingenious. Tony-worthy on all counts!!Alex Bucks County, PA
I saw the show this afternoon and it's still with me. This is once of those rare Broadway shows that dares to be different and it take risks that pay off so handsomely. It's uplifting and heartbreaking at the same time...funny and sad...tender and honest. It stole my heart and by the final scene I was totally and completely under it's rapturous spell. If you loved Spring Awakening, Next To Normal and The Scottsboro Boys...you will not want to miss this show. It's incredible.

We saw once on Saturday March 10th. It exceeded all of my expectations. It was funny, sweet, romantic, moving, stunning, beautiful, and absolutely BRILLIANT !! I am already palnning my next trip to see it again. I loved it. I preordered the cd while at the show, but couldn't wait for it's delivery and downloaded it from itunes. The cast was perfect and so gracious to speak with and take photos with after the show. I do of course have favorite memories and songs from the show. "Gold"

I saw this amazing show on March 4, and I still think about it daily. I can't get over how much I loved this show! I loved the entire cast; they are all extremely talented, both with their acting and their musicality. They all sing and play their instruments beautifully. One of my favorites in the cast was Cristin Milioti. She goes from making you laugh hysterically to tearing at your heart strings in seconds, and both work extremely well. I saw an understudy for "guy", J. Michael Zygo, and I was amazed how great he was, especially for it being his first time on in the role. Also, the feeling of the show, both before it when you are allowed up on stage as well as during the show itself, is very intimate. It conveys the true emotions of the show in an even stronger way. This is a must see for anyone coming to New York. If you've ever felt any emotion ever, you will love this show. I cannot think of anyone who would not love it. It will make you laugh, cry, and everything in between. I go to Broadway shows a lot, but this was one of the best Broadway experiences I've had in a long time. Can't wait to come back and relive the magic that is Once!
Joe Silver Spring, MD
It's truly incredible. Longest standing ovation I've ever seen. This isn't your typical "movie-to-broadway" adaptation at all. It's beautifully choreographed, staged, lit, etc. The thought that went behind every little detail was brilliant. They turned the best soundtrack I've ever heard into the best musical I've seen on Broadway.
Jinay New York, NY
Go see Once immediately. It was one of the most beautiful pieces of theatre I've ever seen, and I can't remember being so moved by a Broadway show. Truly phenomenal.
Anna Ireland /White Plains, NY
O.K. Get out of your seats right now and RUN, do not walk, to see Once, but know this...... Once is a show that doesn't dazzle you with fancy costume changes or flashy set designs. It doesn't have any big name celebrities or even its own orchestra..........but here's the deal. Not having these traditional Broadway elements is a testimony to how powerful this show is and what an impact it has on its audience. Once is that rare, inventive, charming, gut-wrenchingly emotional story that blends music and storytelling brilliantly - no flashy staging or celebrities needed...period! Just remember to revel in those moments when you are at the edge of your seat and realize that there is nowhere in the world you would rather be at that particular moment. Once will not be enough!
Elana Maryland
Amazing show! I have never seen anaything so real and so connected. The introduction was amazing. The music brought me to tears. These were the best possible artist for these roles, the connections were so strong. I was not expecting this at all. Might be one of the greatest musicals I've seen on Broadway. Fantastic!!!!

I go to the city to see shows frequently. But Once was different and a complete surprise. It was a beautifully staged story with tremendous music and a superb cast. At the curtain call the entire audience jumped to its feet. What more can I say? Go see it!Sorcha Charlottesville, VA
“Once” is a truly gorgeous, moving and understated stage production. Propelled by an extremely gifted cast, this musical draws a person in from the start and lingers with them long afterward. I saw it for the first time this weekend, and even though I am not from the New York area, I am already planning to see it again. In the meantime, I am earnestly recommending it to everyone I know. The musicianship of the entire cast is simply astounding. There were several times where I caught myself catching my breath in awe, blissfully consumed by the amount of talent on stage. Admittedly, I initially had doubts about how the film would play out on a Broadway stage, but am thrilled to say that I couldn’t be happier or more satisfied with the result. The plot is so well paced, and the dialogue so well written that I felt an instant investment in the characters on stage. I was deeply moved by the simple, yet heartfelt storyline, and found it very relatable. I consider Ireland and music to be two of my greatest passions, and it is so exciting to see such a lovely musical based on the things that are closest to my heart. “Once” is a joy to experience and I can’t wait to see it several more times in the future.
Kerri Port Chester, NY
It's hard to find the words to describe Once. It was so beautifully done. The set was warm and welcoming and the actors talent as singers and musicians will blow you away. The story will touch your heart and soul. I didn't want the show, the experience, to end, but when it did, I knew I would have to see this show more than ONCE.
Sharon NY
I wasn't expecting this musical to be so awesome! The actors were amazing; acting, playing as the orchestra and being the backstage crew at the same time. You have amazing voices and talents and I can't wait to get the recording CD of the soundtrack! I just...Gosh, I would love to see this show over and over again. Anyone who wants to see an amazing musical should watch 'once.' For real. Thank you for the amazing experience :)

Once was an amazing play, It was beautiful, the music, the choreography. The best thing about it is that it's a comedy and a drama, so the friends i saw it with were laughing and crying at the same time. It was by far, one of the best plays I have seen.
Robin Wilson Russell, KY
"Once" is a finely tuned and beautiful work. The simple staging is effective and helps to keep the focus on the people and their words. There is a fluidity of movement--whether it's characters moving tables and chairs or characters moving each other toward a new purpose or destination of thought. And the lyrics...wow. They are firmly planted in my mind and heart. I'm so proud of our hometown "Guy," Steve Kazee. He is amazing and so is this subtle but powerful show.Cathy Staten Island, NY

Great play, fantastic cast and wonderful music!

I saw Once on Saturday night and I was blown away by the sheer beauty of this story. The music is fabulous. The talent of the cast without rival. I was most impressed to see that a musical does not need to have huge effects and spectacle to grab the heart of the audience and hold it close. It certainly has mine.
Patrick NYC
I saw it twice at The New York Theater Workshop and again on Broadway this weekend. I was so happy to see that the magic and intimacy of this show was not lost in the bigger Broadway house. From the moment the show creatively begins you are taken on a journey that may be familiar to fans of the movie but it is done in way that leaves you breathless time and time again. Once is the anti-musical musical. No flying, no video screens, just a true human experience with a talented cast that will blow you away.
Donna Princeton, NJ
Beautiful music and translation of a wonderful movie. Loved walking in to the Irish pub on stage and getting in to the genre of the Dublin pub scene. Characters from the play mix happily with theater guests in what appears to be a local pub. Then the magic happens as the lights are turned down and the cast draws us into a week in their lives. This is the best Broadway I have seen lately and the audience jumps to their feet in the end to applaud the well deserving cast. Bravo....
Catherine Kansas City, MO
Thank you for inviting me into every moment of this brilliantly crafted story. From the musicians, to the staging and of course the chemistry between guy and girl-- it all just worked beautifully. Thank you, thank you!

Even with a constant roar of fun Irish music, Once still manages to break your heart. It's nothing you'd expected it would be. And for that, it's bliss.
Steve C Lincoln Park, NJ
Saw the movie and was an instant fan. Have hence seen the Swell Season multiple times in concert. Never have I been to a more powerful show. Already knowing what to expect from the show does not prepare you for the emotional experience. I did not think the raw emotion of Glen Hansard's music was going to play through to the show as well as it did. The amazing thing was looking around at the finale and seeing most of the audience in tears, both men and women alike. Even more, hearing everyone singing on the way out was incredible. Overall, the best experience I've had at a show in years!

My husband bought tickets for us to see this show after I raved about the movie. I was apprehensive as to how this amazing little film would be translated to the live stage. After only 10 minutes into the show tears were flowing from my eyes and I was moved beyond words for the remainder of the show. It will stay with me forever. The cast was amazing, each and every actor is brimming with talent. What an amazing show! I loved it more than Wicked because of the deep and personal was that it touched me. Thank-you to John Carney, Glen Hansard and Marketa Irglova.
